Staff Assistant - Community Engagement Program

Job Description

The Program and Staff Assistant is a key part of the Community Engagement (CE) Team.  Under the supervision of CE staff, staff assistants will help with the facilitation of various programs that engage the 香港六合彩开奖资料 community with local, regional, and global organizations in need.  Assistants will also support the day to day operations of Community Engagement by fielding inquiries from students, staff, faculty and community partners.

Staff assistants are encouraged to be creative and share suggestions for programs and partnerships that reflect the civic values of themselves and their peers. 

Primary Responsibilities  

Programming 

  • Provide assistance in the coordination of programs including blood drives, beach clean ups, Turkey Basket Contest, Hawks for the Holidays and other programs that connect 香港六合彩开奖资料 resources with community needs. 

Community Promotion & Outreach 

  • Update CE social media accounts to promote upcoming programs and other related activities
  • Act as an editor on Hawklink system. 
  • Utilize marketing technology such as Canva to create marketing posters, flyers and posts that promote CE programs. 
  • Represent CE at campus events such as Accepted Student Days, Open Houses, etc.  

Administrative & Office Support 

  • Monitor department email accounts, make referrals to appropriate staff, and respond directly when appropriate.    
  • Staff the building鈥檚 front desk; act as first point of contact for university community members entering the farmhouse. 

 Work Schedule 

  • Generally, work will take place between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday, but may also include some evening and weekend hours.  
  • Work schedule will be determined based on staff member鈥檚 availability and academic schedule. 

 Qualifications  

  • Strong ethos of civic and community engagement. Prior community based service and work a plus!
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work Study (for more on Work Study eligibility, contact the Financial Aid office).   
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills  
  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable operating independently
