Walking Tour Guide and Support Staff – short term assignment for Fall 2024!

Job Description:  Primary need is for tour guides to lead groups of ~12 4th grade students on a walking tour of either Bristol or Warren. All groups will have a chaperone in addition to the tour guide. The tours  will visit historic sites and civic properties, and will include discussions about history, the natural environment, and adaptive reuse of historic buildings. Pre-work is done in the classroom to prepare students for the tour. 

Tour guides will have 2 (or more if needed) in-person training sessions in advance of the tour dates. Interested applicants must be outgoing, enthusiastic, engaging, and interested in working with 4th grade students (ages ~9-11). 

Fall 2024 tours will take place on weekday mornings, probably in the first two weeks of October. Tours are about 2 hours in length; the total time commitment per tour day is about 3 hours.

There is also the potential need for floater positions. Floaters would work with the program coordinator to assist as needed on the tour date. 

A minimum of 4 tour guides are needed per tour, per school. Bristol schools/tours:  Rockwell, Guiteras, and Colt Andrews Schools. Warren school/tour: Hugh Cole School. 

Transportation: All Bristol schools are accessible by RIPTA, some by Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ shuttle as well.  Warren schools will require car transportation.
