Topic title: SEC SELLS: USING APPROPRIATE PROTECTION TO SECURE YOUR FINANCIAL ASSETS
Russ Beauchemin is to speak at the Institute of Management Accountants NorthEast Regional Council’s (IMA NERC’s) 14th Annual Fall Conference, taking place September 17 to 19, 2023 at the Wyndham Newport Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island.
Brief Presentation Summary:
BlackFog reports that the typical cost of a data breach in the financial sector grew 257% to $5.97 Million per incident in 2022—$1 Million above the overall global average per incident. Since the primary motivation for these attacks is money, the financial sector is heavily targeted with attacks ranging from social engineering and ransomware to the breeching of systems and targeted networks. This presentation will give participants an overview of how threat actors use tools and techniques to gain unauthorized access to these systems and networks, ways you can protect yourself and your companies from falling prey to these threats, and what the future of protection and prevention measures against these attempts will look like.
