Bristol, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ Cooperative Committee Accepting Grant Applications from Local Groups, Individuals
Current funding cycle will award approximately $12,500 to projects that enhance the Bristol community
BRISTOL, RI&²Ô²ú²õ±è;–TheTown of Bristol/Roger Williams University Cooperative Committee is accepting applications for grant requests from local groups and individuals leading projects to enhance civic and community life in Bristol.
The fund, established in 2007 when Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ and Bristol reached a payment-in-lieu-of-taxes agreement, awards approximately $25,000 each year. The committee accepts applications twice a year, and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ will award about $12,500 in this funding cycle.
Throughout the years, the fund has provided money for local food pantries and art projects, for automatic telephone dialer devices for the elderly and for programs to prevent teen alcohol and substance abuse.
The committee, which consists of leaders from Bristol and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ, also has provided an open venue for discussion and decision-making and assisted in building upon a truly symbiotic relationship between the university and the town.
