Masks Required in Library
Face coverings are a key tool in preventing exposure and containing the spread of COVID-19. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ requires face coverings to be worn in all campus spaces, including in the library.
The purpose of masks is to keep respiratory droplets from reaching others. However, masks with one-way valves or vents allow air to be exhaled through a hole in the material, which can result in expelled respiratory droplets that can reach others. This type of mask does not prevent the person wearing the mask from transmitting COVID-19 to others. Therefore, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ does not recommend using masks with an exhalation valve or vent. Gaiters, bandannas, and single ply masks also provide insufficient protection and are not recommended.
Remember, masks are only effective if we wear them. Let's keep each other safe by wearing our masks while on campus!
