Lillian Jeznach, Ph.D., P.E.
Areas of Expertise
Environmental and Water Resources EngineeringEducation
B.S. Worcester Polytechnic Institute; M.S. & Ph.D. University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Dr. Jeznach’s research focuses on the analysis of water quantity and quality in both natural and built hydrologic systems. Her research approach typically uses models to simulate the impacts on important physical, chemical, and biological processes in a system subject to changes in inputs and boundary conditions. She is particularly interested in quantifying the effects of climate change on freshwater water quality as well as understanding fate and transport of contaminants in freshwater. Other research interests of Dr. Jeznach include evaluating evidence-based teaching practices in STEM education, particularly those which may increase the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students in the engineering discipline. She serves as the co-advisor to the Society of Women Engineers club.
At Roger Williams, she teaches ENGR 110 – Engineering Graphics and Design, ENGR115 – Computer Applications for Engineers, ENGR 318 – Sustainable Engineering, ENGR403 – Engineering Hydrology, and ENGR 428 – Open Channel Hydraulics. In 2023 she was honored to receive the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±×ÊÁÏ Excellence in Teaching Award for her work in the classroom.
