David Jorgensen is an Assistant Professor of Management, having taught primarily strategic management and entrepreneurship, but also other courses in management at need including organizational behavior, managerial decision-making, and the MBA consulting practicum. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance and Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from Utah Valley University, and earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, minor in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources, from the University of Memphis. 

Before embarking upon his Ph.D., David helped start and grow a high-quality, award-winning neuromarketing research laboratory at Utah Valley University, where he was also employed as a teaching assistant during both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He additionally spent time working as a day trader between his B.S. and MBA degrees. He has since focused on student learning and growth, as well as his own, striving always to craft high-impact, realistic courses, writing letters of recommendation, providing counsel, and embracing the principle of continuous improvement. 

Regarding research, David currently focuses on understanding entrepreneurs and how personality impacts their odds of success and failure, and how top decision-makers behave strategically in regard to exogenous shocks. His research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Vocational Behavior and in Entrepreneurship and Behavioral Strategy.
